Save Money Building Your Website

People think building a website is expensive. It doesn’t have to be!

There is so much to do when building a site but a lot of it can be done by you to help bring the cost down. Below are a few of these tips! If you prefer, I can and will do any of the following for you.

1.  Create a folder on your computer named Website.
    Preview sites within the same category and jot down anything you like:

   Site address: www.___________ Feature: _______________

   Site address: www.___________ Feature: _______________

    2. Pages – What do you need? (circle your choices)

HOME	CONTACT	FEEDBACK
ABOUT US	SITE MAP	PHOTO GALLERY
PRODUCTS	SERVICES	PRICING

 

3. Images: When you find images you want to use, put them in a file marked images in your website folder. o As you put your images in the folder, make sure you save them with a name, lowercase with no spaces and any captions you might want to use.
Start thinking about the following images:

Business Logo- I can design if needed.
Photographs (about us page, photo galleries, etc.)
Icons- this could be anything!

4. Layout: There are many designs out there. How do you want your site to look? Navigation on the top, side, bottom, columns, etc. Draw it out on a separate piece of paper to eliminate guess work.




5. Content: To save you time and money, you can type up any content you might have for each page. The less typing I have to do, the less it will cost you!
