How to Swap Color of Images with Fireworks CS4

My logo was originally green, but now that my site is blue, my business cards don't really match the site. Here are step by step directions on how to change a color in any image with Fireworks CS4.

I learned how to do this through lynda.com video tutorials.

FWcolor

First, Open an existing Fireworks doc or Import an image from another location.

FWcolor1

Select the rectangle tool.

FWcolor2

Draw a rectangle around the entire image. (Going over the image is okay.)

FWcolor3

Next, on the rubber stamp, hold down the small black triangle in the bottom right hand corner to open up other options. Select Replace Color tool.

FWcolor4

In the Properties section (bottom), select the From color.

FWcolor5

Then place your mouse over the color you want to change and the color window will automatically change to that color. Once you select the color, hit enter

FWcolor6

Next, select the color you are changing it To:

FWcolor7

Because the color I want to change it to is not on the current screen, select the color ball for more colors and Hit OK.

FWcolor8

Select what type of brush you want to use, square or round. For me, it doesn’t matter because I am replacing all the green color.

FWcolor9

Next, run your mouse over all colored areas you want to change. Notice it will not color anything but the selected color so don’t worry about going out of the lines.

FWcolor10

Next fit your canvas to your image. See my directions on how to adjust your canvas size.
You have successfully changed the color of your project!
