Emily
Emily is my sister. We are like so many sisters, DIFFERENT. But in spite of our differences we have a special bond like no other and I love her so much!
I know why we're not the same
Another mother or father
We'd be us only by name.
Exactly the way you did
You had to live this life
Experiences formed you
The good and the strife.
Look at all you do
I couldn't do it like you
Raising those special two
Was destined for you.
To live your life
Oh, Em I couldn't
And look at my life
Well, you just wouldn't.
While I wanted to be like you
Used to long for your traits
There were other qualities of yours
That I actually used to hate.
When we were young
I just didn't understand
You really had my back
Always there, extended hand
The great thing about us
Is we have unconditional love
You are my sister
Mapped by the One above.
We're so different
Opposites, per-se
Yet our bond remains strong
Day after day.
I love you Emily
You, I admire
For your courage
And spitfire
For so many times
You could have said
I told you so
But never did
For many reasons
I won't take time to list
Just know I am so proud
To be your little sis.
