Winter Takes Over
This poem was written because of the cold long winters in Maine. There seems to be no end in sight!
Winter
Bright, yet fading
Trying to hold on,
Fall
loses
out.
Cold
and harsh,
Breathtaking at times,
Winter
takes
over.
Daylight
hours fade
quicker with each day.
The sun
is
frozen.
Blanket
Of snow
Covering it all,
Springs
far
away.
Desperation
Sets in
Sunlight craving
Taking
me
over.
A flicker
of sun
Growing stronger
Still not
quite
enough.
Oh, Winter
hurry fast
You've been too long
And I
can't
last.
